This lot consists of two items:- 1) Papua New Guinea 1937 (14th May) Registered First Day Cover with set of four Papua Coronation stamps SG 154/157 (Ref. 1) tied by four 'PORT MORESBY / 14 MY 37 / PAPUA' cds' with another on reverse and pertinent registration label and addressed to J.H.Smyth (the well known FDC dealer) Sydney Australia and so backstamped. Fine First Day Cover (see scans 1 & 2). 2) Papua New Guinea 1937 (2nd Sep) Registered Airmail cover with set of four Papua Coronation stamps SG 154/157 (Ref. 1) tied by four 'PORT MORESBY / 2 SP 37 / PAPUA' cds' with another on reverse and pertinent registration label and addressed to Wau with arrival cds 'WAU / 9SEP37 / NEW GUINEA' on reverse. Cover is endorsed 'GUINEA AIRWAYS LIMITED' in black. Philatelic usage but a fine cover (see scans 3 & 4). I attest that the 'roo stamps(or any stamps for that matter) in my stock have not been reperfed,reperfinned(if a perfin),regummed(if mint or CTO) or gassed while in my possession. Furthermore I assert that these 'roo stamps have never been so treated because I bought them so long ago before these things were prevalent and/or I bought them from impeccable sources.
