Hobbs Brockunier Cranberry Opalescent Dew Drop Hobnail Tumbler Victorian 1880s

One of Hobbs Brockunier popular lines, the dewdrop #323 pattern was first patented June 1, 1886, submitted by William Russell and William Leighton, Jr. Later known as Hobnail, this line sold well and was produced in a myriad of colors and shapes.  Among the popular colors and shapes were the cranberry opalescent water sets. This particular tumbler was part of a water set consisting of a matching pitcher and an even number of tumblers.  Over the years many sets have been separated or pieces lost so often individual tumblers or pitchers can be found in the marketplace.  This one tumbler has absolutely beautiful color but does have one of the hobnails in the top circular ring missing. This is common for this style as these hobnails tended to be chipped or broken over the years.  The inside is clean, I can find no other damage to any of the exterior hobs. I did feel one slightly rough tip but it is located on the mold seam thus production not damage. Nice pontil on bottom.  The piece is sold as is. It stands 3 7/8” tall with the diameter of the top measuring 2 5/8” across. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description.
